I am giving away a 12x18 Metallic Print of "Crabtree Falls" worth $100 <<Click here to enter>>
It is completely quiet November morning, except for the songs of birds nearby as the sun crept up over the horizon. I am in my portable blind, my camera facing south into the dense North Carolina woodland. I don't have to wait long before a white-tailed buck begins to move to the east east of me and moving south. He is about 30 yards from me and he suddenly stops and looks my direction. I am totally motionless and concealed in my hide.
He knows something isn't right, but he can't quite determine what this new clump of cloth is in his environment. He now begins a large arc around my position. About every 20 feet, he stops and stomps one foot, hoping to spook me into moving. The whole time he is moving, I am following him with my Sony A7 III and Sigma 150-600 mm lens. I am firing shot after shot in silent mode so as not to spook him. Then, suddenly something moves off to my right in the weeds and the buck turns and runs.
"Until next time, my friend", I mumble under my breath.
